Thursday, 3 July 2008
Unique collaborations were the order of the night as the latest batch of musicians were inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame in a special ceremony in Melbourne. Special tributes from across the Australian musical community flowed as the inductees performed with a variety of contemporary artists. Max Merritt was joined by Kasey Chambers, Russell Morris and Lior did a duet and the Church's Steve Kilbey stepped in for late vocalist David McComb for a version of the Triffids' iconic 'Wide Open Road'. Dragon were joined on stage by James Reyne and Ian Moss, and were also accompanied by late singer Marc Hunter on vocals via video. Rolf Harris also gave a spirited performance of his chart-topping hit 'Tie Me Kangaroo Down, Sport' accompanied by the Seekers and his trusty wobble board.
