When Australian Idol hit Network 10 primetime in 2003, audiences were introduced to a slew of characters from hip-hop artists to falsetto masters, but arguably the stand-out was one epitomical country Aussie. Despite running a close second to the afro-haired Guy Sebastian, Shannon Noll has continually seen much success in his post-Idol music career. His album, That's What I'm Talking About, launched in 2004, and the first track 'What About Me' debuted at number one, moving a massive 125,000 singles in its first week. 'Drive' and 'Learn To Fly' soon followed, each achieving similar results. This huge success was enough to land Noll a place in a top-selling arena tour with fellow top 12 Idols, and a number of appearances as part of Channel 7 and Channel 10 programming, furthering his popularity. A second album, Lift, released in 2005, included the namesake single 'Lift' as well as the powerful 'Shine', 'Now I Run' and 'Lonley'. Noll also began to contribute heavily to the writing and composition of the music. A third album, Turn It Up, released in early 2007, secured Noll's status as an Australian music identity as the singles 'Loud' and 'In Pieces' continued his top 10 run.
