LeRoi Moore of Dave Matthews Band dies

Founding member and saxophonist of the Dave Matthews Band, LeRoi Moore has passed away at age 46. The classically trained musician died from complications arising from a four-wheel motorbike accident, in which he suffered extensive injuries, on his farm back in June. He had recently begun an intensive rehabilitation program, yet details as to the exact nature of his passing haven't been released. Despite his classical training Moore often cited jazz as his main influence yet, according to the biography on the Dave Matthews Band's website, he thought playing with the band was "almost better than a jazz gig", saying, "I have plenty of space to improvise, to try new ideas". The band has set up a fund in honour of Moore where donations can be made to "charities that reflect both his spirit and passion".
