Dukes of Windsor
Dukes of Windsor formed when Jack Weaving (vocals) and Cory Blight (drums/engineer/producer) spent several months jamming and writing songs in Blight's bedroom in the summer of 2004-2005. When they later enlisted the help of Scott Targett (keyboard), Oscar Dawson (guitar), and Joe Franklin (bass), the electro-indie force that is the Dukes of Windsor was born. The band spent several months paying their dues, gigging around Melbourne and released their first EP, Foxhunt, in 2005. In 2006 they released their debut album The Others which was received well with radio audiences. However, it wasn't until dance producers TV Rock collaborated with the band on the album's title track that the Dukes received the attention that they had been craving. The track topped the ARIA Club and Dance chart for 10 weeks as well as holding a top ten position in the ARIA singles chart and earned the group an ARIA nomination in 2007. The boys toured the country extensively on the back of this success. They were later signed to Island Records. The Dukes travelled to Sweden to record their second album Minus at Tonteknik Studios with Pelle Henricsson and Eskil Lovstrom.
